      ALLNET ALL4781-VDSL2-SFP / Switch Modul (Mini-GBIC), VDSL2 Telco

      Hello to everyone,

I was search and found this VDSL2 modem supporting also the newer Vectoring standards at the Allnet online
shop and now I am interested on reports from other users if this will be supporte by pfSense installations and/or
if it is working wether or not. So can anyone in the forum here report back, that this modem is working fro him
or not working for him too? Might be sounding offense but, to collect many small modem boxes inside of an
19" rack will not be the same as all is installed inside of an appliance and fast to change or high up if
needed. The price is nearly the same as for other external modems, here in Germany we have to
pay ~94 € + shipment fee. It would be really useful if you will share your expiriences with me
(us) here if more peoples could be also interested in that SFP modem modules.

Its looking like an ordinary SFP mini-GBIC module and also easy to handle for the user and customer, only a
normal 1 GBit/s SFP port will be demanded for inserting it right.

It is supporting the following VDSL2 standards:

      • Supporting all VDSL standards ITU-T G.993.2, G.994.1, G.997.1
      • MSA konform hot pluggable electrical interface / SFP Slot
      • Supporting G.inp (G.998.4) and G.vector (G.993.5)

It will only work if it has an embedded modem, SoC, ethernet adapter and configuration interface. Direct DSL to FreeBSD is not an option.
Basically, it's just a normal modem, but in a different form factor.

Yes in deed it is a real modem for VDSL/VDSL2.
