      Could it be that 2.4.1 changes the behavior of AES-NI please ?
      There is a vpn client installed that is used for almost all outgoing traffic and I’m almost convinced that the UI reported ‘active’ in 2.4.0.

        Did you enable it in System -> Advanced -> Miscellaneous?

          What is with a clean, fresh and full install and play back only the config file backup then?
          Would be only needing something between 5 minutes to 15 minutes but all is mostly going fine then.
