      After upgrading my pc fails to boot up the procedure stops after this line;
      cd0 at ahcich2 bus 0 scbus2 target 0 lun 0

      Until now I have been running pfSense successfully on an ASUS M5A 78L-M motherboard with an AMD Phenom IIx4 965 processor and 8GB of memory. I have regularly updated the software with no problems at all.

      Any advice would be appreciated even if it is a method of returning to the previous version of the software.

        From the boot menu, tell it to boot verbose and see if anything else shows up.

        What version was it running before? 2.3.4? And older 2.4 snapshot?

          Aconteceu comigo também. Para minha felicidade tinha um pendriver com o a versao 2.3.4 e um backup. Quando ele travou nesse linha que você mencionou eu desliguei o pc aparentemente tudo normal mas apareceu uma logomarca da PFSENSE bem grande na frente de qualquer página. Tentei voltar o backup não deu certo ai fiz uma instalação completa e restorei o backup. E agora é só diversão.

            Thank you all for your help. I booted the system from a 2.41 disc, accessed the control panel and then updated in the usual way from 2.4 to 2.41. It now appears to be functioning ok
