Is it possible to install 2 independent SSDs in an SG-4860 (or SG-2440) to enable a ZFS mirror? I know there are several internal slots but afaik only 1 is designed for storage (mSATA).

i am not sure if SG-4860 motherboard differs from SG4860 1U, but on my motherboard i have 2 sata connectors where i can put ssd.

I searched and searched but just couldn't find an answer to this. Dug through the ADI manual, which did not help. Closest thing I could find was this old thread and maybe this one.

4860 has a single mSATA slot and a single SATA port. I'm not sure how this can be done.

True, but that's 1U and I was under impression luckman212 was talking about SG-4860 (or SG-2440), which are both desktop. No room for extra SSD's there :)

Yes, I was… well, it might be a long shot but what about something like this?

                    SATA DOM 32GB (SSD-DM032-SMCMVN1)

USB header to 2-pin power cable (hard to find but I found one guy making them)

                    Plug that in here:

General idea is good. i am not sure if this pin port on board you selected good.
however in adi documentation you should find 5V output on board that you can hook ;)

According to ADI documentation port you selected is front panel header - so wrong
here is an pinout information picture from reference board from adi.
compare with your bord and check if usb pinout is soldered.

Cool, I ordered a couple of those power cables from the guy and I'll test this & report back!
