      Greetings,

I have CARP setup with 2.3.4_p1.  Before the upgrade I turned off configuration sync.  Upgraded the backup to 2.4.1 now my VLAN interfaces are not pingable on the backup unit.  CARP is showing master on those VLAN interfaces on the backup unit.

      Thoughts?

      Thanks

      Dino

        More information:
        1. only the VLANs are showing no packets in.
        2. when I trying to ping the Primary interface IP, no answer.
        3. when I ping the CARP IP, I get a return.
        4. The actual interfaces the VLANs are linked to are pingable.

What would prevent a VLAN from being pingable or interfacing with the network?

It's like the VLANs didn't convert correctly after 2.3.4_p1.

This sounds like it could be related to the CARP flapping issue that was reported in this thread: https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=139030.0. It seems to affect any bridge interfaces.

In version 2.4.1 there will be a problem with the VLAN labeling.
And in version 2.4.1 there are not VLAN able over PPP connections!

Perhaps this could be the hint you must know?

I know the vlan labels changed but would that prevent them from pinging out?  I can't ping any ip address via that interface and I can't ping the interface IP from my desk.
