L2TP/IPsec question

hi all,

i know how to set up L2TP server and a user with it on the pfsense firewall but i hear that L2TP on its own is not secure/encrypted and that you need to run IPsec aswell with it

just been in to look at setting up IPsec but it looks complicated, can anyone please help me out plus how do you use the 2 protocols together so im using L2TP/IPsec?

It is not possible to use them together on 2.1.x. It should be possible on 2.2 but may not be fully functional yet in the snapshots. When the time comes, we will have documentation on how to create the proper configuration for L2TP/IPsec
