SG-2220, unable to update BIOS
-
I just attempted the BIOS update for my SG-2220 and am encountering difficulties.
After installing flashrom and fetching and extracting the BIOS file using the instructions on the support page I run "flashrom -w bios.rom -p internal" and counter the following message:"flashrom v0.9.9-r1955 on FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p17 (amd64)
flashrom is free software, get the source code at https://flashrom.orgCalibrating delay loop… OK.
coreboot table found at 0x7fbf0c00.
Found chipset "Intel Avoton/Rangeley".
Enabling flash write... OK.
Found Winbond flash chip "W25Q64.V" (8192 kB, SPI) mapped at physical address 0x00000000ff800000.
Error: Image size (45 B) doesn't match the flash chip's size (8388608 B)!"I checked the BIOS version before and after attempting the update and it is showing "ADI_DFF2-01.00.00.08-nodebug"
Is there something I'm missing? -
Yup, same for me.

We will be updating the guide soon, please standby.

New instructions posted this evening seem to work.

Excellent news. Thanks for the feedback.

While is great you don't have to console in and all.. Its still not a remote update because of last step
"Physically turn the power off to the system and back on again (not a reboot)."
If the power has to by physically removed.. Unless I have remote control over the power via a PDU or UPS that can remove power to outlet.. This can not be actually performed remote.. Or will have to get someone on site to pull the plug, etc.
So for sure will be making sure I have remote control over the power going forward..
