You want to dump php for ajax?
I like ajax, but seems like might make updates and new releases take longer?
Maybe be more system hungry?
I'm not sure.
Also, how well would ajax work on a secure admin terminal with "no-script" settings?

pfsense can't have an interface like that because it's not legally allowed to fill the entire screen.
I'm sure the majority missed the joke.
That's a really nice looking interface btw. Thanks for sharing. Not commending on the technology behind the interface, commenting on what "the eye can see". Mix a bit of that and keep the good things out of pfsense and you'll have a killer product. Not saying that pfsense is not a killer product, but it does lack a few things on the "blink" side.

With "bling" comes bloat. Be careful what you ask for.

I actually like the pfSense GUI much more. Perhaps because I am used to it, but it looks much clearer to me.

Agreed. I am sure that it is because I am used to the pfSense gui but halon looked worse to me.

Regardless of the GUI, I tried it. I like OpenBSD leanness and I gave Halon a try.
Installed it, found updated version, made firmware upgrade and found out that my 'Free' subscription had automagically expired.Did'nt manage to find out how to renew. Could not get the darn thing work either, after it. After 15min of trying - gave up on it.
If you wanted anything besides basic firewall/routing you needed to pay. Including for VLANs
it would be cheaper to install OpenBSD itself and use it's pf accordingly. No nice GUI though
