IPSEC Plex
-
Hi
I have setup a IPSec vpn between 2 sites which is functioning fine
I have a plex server on the other site which is showing as a local server as opposed to remote which means it is using the vpn To stream as opposed to the WAN.
What's the preferred way to force this over the WAN link?
Thanks :-)

Anyone have any suggestions on this?

Is there a reason you'd want to to use the WAN connect? The effective bandwidth difference shouldn't be noticeable.
One way to force it to use the WAN is to block the port (32400) with a firewall rule between the VPN connections.
Make sure to open the port for the WAN connection too.

Thanks for the help.
It's because Plex detects the server as a local server instead of a remote as they are in the same VPN network.
The speed is s quicker when not over VPN, I will try you suggestion and let you know.
