FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p19I experienced a problem with assigning a static IP address for 2 ports on an Intel based server board.
the Mac addresses are:
XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:CC and XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:CD
the problem is that PFSense doe snot seem to like 2 Mac addresses that are separated by 1 digit.
I get the error:
The following input errors were detected:This fully qualified hostname (Hostname + Domainname), IP, MAC address or Client identifier already exists.
However, if I change everything, IP, Client ID, hostname+domain and leave the MAC, I still get the error.
IF I move it from D to F or a number, it seems to accept this.I can't change the MAC on the system in question, so I was hoping that maybe someone else has seen this and/or there is a fix for this in PFSense ?
thanks !

Just wondering if anyone has seen or knows of a fix ?
The box I am using has an Intel MB with dual NICs and believe it or not, the MAC addresses are 1 digit apart.
I want to be able to use both NICs via DHCP and for some reason it does not seem to work via PFSENSE DHCP.
thanks

Can you locally assign a MAC on one of those interfaces?

Would this happen if DHCP has already assigned IP's to these MAC addresses? Check Status > DHCP Leases. If so try deleting the entries automatically created by DHCP with the same MAC addresses.
Make sure you are assigning static IP's outside of the DHCP IP range.
