      Hello.

Maybe this is a silly idea but, i dont know which rule must i put to allow computer from different segments to find them in "Networks elemens" in windows .

Can this be done? i mean, to be capable of discovering computers from oither network segments.

Windows uses broadcasts or multicast to announce shares.  Those are not normally passed by routers.

Thanks for your response but in my office they use Cisco and Checkpoint firewall and they have discovery of computers and shares between networks …

It says that is a "helper" from Cisco or anything like.

By helper do you mean "ip helper" if you do it only forwards broadcasts to the specified address ?

Really only useful for a centralised DHCP service.

You could try the avahi package if you require mDNS.

Do they use a domain controller, such as Active Directory?  That's the usual way of accessing Windows shares across routers.

My outdated knowledge of Cisco vaguely recall such HELPER feature, can always google it and find out exactly what it does then attempt to replicate in your environment. Things to also look at NETBIOS, NETBIOS OVER TCP/IP, WINS.
