Problems installing pfSense
-
Dear users,
I want to experiment with pfSense on a PC slightly dated, which has two ethernet ports.
I created a USB bootable, and when I try to boot to install pfSense, the setup stops and doesn't install it.
In the first attachment there is the screenshot when the setup stops;
In the second there are the boot options set by me;
In the third the BIOS overview of the PC.If I try to boot to install pfSense on an other computer, it works, but I can't install there (other computer), but where there are 2 lan ports.
What can I do?
Thanks

Hi,
You tried this : https://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?topic=145427.0 ?

I read that topic, but I don't have a problem like this:
Reboot and select proper boot device
or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a keyHelp!

Not sure what you're expecting us to do. Make sure your system BIOS is update to the latest available. Reset BIOS config to factory defaults. Try to install again. If it barfs then there is something wrong/incompatible with that system, especially if your install media works on another box.

And so what you advice me?
The only escape is changing computer?
Thanks

Far better escapes exists : like using pfSense-certified devices ;)
But I'm not saying your PC can't work with pfSense. I couldn't. Several thousands forum users exists here - and far more different BIOS settings so the chance exists that you are the only one that can figure it out which one makes "it work".
Another test : install a plain vanilla FreBSD first.

Boa tarde,
Eu também sou iniciante e o meu ficou assim também pelo cd, mas percebir que o problema tava no hd troquei e resolveu, mas ele é lento ao instalar diferente das versões anteriores.

Dated comp is not a problem, I installed and ran on a 15 years old single core Pentium3. My feeling is, pFsense works good with generic, non-custom PC, and you did not volunteer what brand, if any, this dated PC is, and Mr. Obvious would want to now, if this PC a WORKING PULLED, meaning it was working perfectly right before you decided to install pFsense or it, or you just found something at the garage sale with unknown history?
