Mine spiked at 85% for initial install but I gave it some time and as usual it settled back down to around 45%.
It does seem little higher than before but 15% pffft no worries. I wish mine was at that percentage.  :o
But to answer the question, yes it does.

I'm in a good mood, so I'm going to make it easier for you. One of those changes increases memory usage, the other reduces it, how much you are affected depends on your hardware/software configuration:

                WOW…

Thank you SO much for allowing your EGO to step before your duty.

This, right there, is what keeps me from recommending pfSense to anybody expecting the support and willingness of other distributions...

I, for one, give thanks to th universe that you were in a good moood, and enlighten us!

For the same reason, I MUST tell people: DO NOT get into pfSense unless you truly and really know your stuff.
Otherwise, you are at the MERCY of rude, egotistical and pretentious 'support' pricks.

Still, we thank you, Sir God, for giving us 30 seconds of your breath.
Yes, yes, yeess, it is free, but if you, Sir, cannot simply help without showing the brass, please just stay aside.
                Neeeeeext!

Hi. Since you mentioned that you have 4GB of ram in your firewall this portion from the changelog probably explains it.

Hope this helps and have a nice day.

Why is anything his duty?    From what I can see he is just another user that happens to live in Europe somewhere..  Volunteering his time here to pass on some knowledge..

So- why would you blame the pfsense project for a forum users actions?

                      Hi tman904,

thanks for pointing that one out to me.
I overread it probably 10 times, but that do explain the increase on RAM.

I am not very good in riddles, so the hints from Grimson where not very helpful.
Probably the reason I don't understand women at all.
Saying this, meaning that and me have to figure it out!  ;D

                      So thanks for the help.
And pppfsense thanks for your post. Made me laugh, but your so right.
Me, as a newbie, sometimes needs input or explanation when I self cannot figure it out.

Well, thanks people for input and have a nice Easter.

                      Marcel

                        @mollie99:

                        …
Anybody else noticed memory increase with pfSense?
                        ...

My experience is that every upgrade-install will expand memory and leave it after auto-reboot (no cleanup after work I assume).

But, if you manually reboot again, which I always do, the used memory will reduce drastically. Just try it ;)

                          Hi hda,

and that's also true, what U wrote.
I rebooted my PFSense, and memory is back to normal  :)

                          Thanks for the tip.
