I made some changes on the LAN side and I get the following error as per image. Regrettably I did not enable SSH before this. Am I resigned to factory default and then start again?

Try to access WebGUI via its LAN IP address instead of its hostname.

OK.  I've never had this error myself.  Depending on what you did with your LAN changes, can you change them back to the previous state when it was working?

              System>Advanced>
Scroll down and find :Disable 'Disable HTTP_REFERER enforcement check'

Re enable at a later date

That's not going to help him if he can't get past that GUI error.

True, suppose I was going back to when I have come across this, while accessing the GUI from a second device while logged in on another interface, while changing a second interface setting on the second device, going back to the first device gave access.

I might do well to better understand exactly what triggers this issue.

If you can get to the console, you can disable that check

                    pfSsh.php playback disablereferercheck

Or try accessing it using another IP address on the firewall (e.g. your WAN IP address), you can still hit those from the LAN.
