IKEv2 Modes?

Hey guys, first I'd like to say that pfSense 2.2 is awesomely impressive! Thank you! But I have a question about the new StrongSwan IKEv2. When I create a VPN I still have to select a phase 1 mode of aggressive or main. I've worked in production environments with 5000 SonicWALLs all connected with IPSec and IKEv2. Not only does this mode selection go away when you select it, but IKEv2 is just that, a complete replacement for main and aggressive.

So am I understanding this right? Is this something that will be removed in the future? And if so, when using IKEv2 now, does the mode I select have ANY effect on my VPN when I have selected IKEv2?

It needs some javascript to update the fields accordingly when switching IKE versions. It has no functional effect on IKEv2.
