so if my sg2220 decides to go out.  this would probably be my next purchase

i don't like the reviews of the SG1000 so far.  and a 4 port model is too expensive for my tastes.

thank you for posting this.. i will need to look around for more reviews on this..

EDIT.    dang it won't work on windows 7.    there goes using it for my ubnt NVR replacement device :(

We had a discussion about the smaller end of the market under "Official Hardware".
I believe that the APU2 devices fill this gap better and cheaper.
I would prefer to use Netgate Hardware when possible, however..

          11 cheers for binary

Will those "consumer" devices have arms or run on 64 leX?  ;)

Several factors like CPU type (not just desktop CPU), engineering and design, RAM, storage matter. This little board is a lot better quality than Qotom or similar 3rd party vendors.

Amazon is really working themselves into a pickle with all of the fake and counterfeit products they are allowing, aren't they.

I was just shopping for an EOtech holosight - about a $550 part - and all of the comments said they were Chinese knockoffs. EOtechs are made in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I did not buy from Amazon.

Just for clarification: I e-mailed with Jamie Thompson (owner of Netgate LLC) about delivery of those devices to Europe so I was confident that this offer on a-z is legit. FWIW

Just set mine up last night.  Hope you are ok with fan noise because depending on your environment, you will definitely notice it.  Maybe it's just me as I get older and crankier.  Ugh…

I use Minnowboard Dual-e with the fan unplugged ;) It's designed to throttle down in case it overheats.

Sure. Here's another tip, use adapter like this to have console access:

                                          https://www.adafruit.com/product/954

You can push cable through the case grill (after you open the case). I don't always keep monitor on or nearby, console is far more practical.

what temp does the quad run @ with the fan going then removed?

from the pictures this is a heatsink/ fan combo correct?

2nd question.  i should be able to restore a back from a sg2220 to this device and it work exactly the same correct?
