Having a hard time understanding just what cards the list in the URL relates to. Would something like this work out of the box you think?

      X540 chipset

Thanks. Staying away from that one then =)

Managed to get my Asus XG-C100C working in Fedora 27 Server out of the box, so I'll just use networkd for that for a bit while I wait for a better network card.

Found a QLOGIC 57810 dual-port 10GB Base-T (RJ-45) but its going to take a while to get here.

Thanks again for all your help / tips. Seems FreeBSD needs to get with the times! =)

I did it the other way around.
Got 10Gb card on my Hyper-v then assigned it to virtual pfSense :)

Just to close this thread, got the "QLOGIC 57810 dual-port 10GB Base-T (RJ-45)" installed today and it works beautifully! So now I'm back to pfsense =)

Thanks for the help once again.

                  Bahnhof is the ISP.

298 SKR (~30 EUR) a month for 6 months. After that 498 (I think it was) SKR (~50 EUR) a month.

They must be laying a bunch of new fiber. Consumer gigabit, once the exclusive domain of Google, seems now everywhere.

                      Shut up.  ;D
He's even getting 10Gbps fiber for a ridiculous price.

In the office I don't get fiber at all. Best we can have is 25/5 VDSL which only links at 20 Mbps max.
And when we switch to All-IP, which we have to in June 2018, we will get a whopping 16Mbps ADSL only.  :-[

So I'm probably not located in "everywhere" on your map.  ;)

Well, I am in Sweden, so that might be a reason. There are more fiber here than blonde girls…
