after starting the browser-update it was not able to boot any more but now shows this on the (Serial)console:
Booting from Hard Disk... Booting from 0000:7c00 F1 pfSense F6 PXE Boot: F1 //bboooott//ccoonnffiigg:: --SS111155220000 --DD handle_75 handle_02

I booted from a usb-drive with 2.4.3 and when trying to mount the ssd manually, fsck found several errors and was able to fix them. I could mount and "rescue" my config.xml.
Then I put another usb drive in for permanent use and decided to reinstall and enable zfs to mirror on ssd and usb-drive.
Before reinstalling I used the third menu-entry to search for an old config.xml and the setup-process backed it up to /tmp and it seemes that it was transfered to the new installation automatically
currently it's in the state of```
.Updating pfSense-core repository catalogue...
repository pfSense-core has no meta file, using default settingslet's see if it finally works

If it doesn't have a valid WAN connection the time-out on that can be…. excessive. That looks normal though.
We have a bug report open on that issue.

yes, the box had a static wan-ip configured and I was restoring it in my network, not in the destination network. once I fixed this, the installation succeeded and it's now running like before (cool that taking over the old config.xml worked so flawless!) but now with the right filesystem ;D

Good to hear, thanks for the feedback. :)
