      @jimp:

Go to https://www.pfsense.org/ and at the bottom right of the page, sign up for the newsletter there. We send out release announcements that way.

The firewall itself won't notify you of available updates.

      Done. Thanks.

I forgot to mention that he could also follow Pfsense on Twitter (https://twitter.com/pfsense).

Okay I will follow twitter too. Thanks.

          Just one more thing.
I installed pfsense 5-6 days ago.
          2.4.3-RELEASE (amd64)
It still says "The system is on the latest version."
          Is this normal ?
          No updates yet ?
          Just checking.

What you would expect to be updated so often (every few days) ?

No updates yet, that is the most recent released version. You can easily verify that by checking the pfsense.org site, Netgate blog and various other sources (doc wiki, twitter, etc)

Yeah that is the current version, unless you want to run the snapshots (development versions) which is 2.4.4

                https://www.pfsense.org/snapshots/

Snapshots come out normally every day.

                    Just checking.

                    Alternative way to check :
If security means anything to you, drop in on this forum every day, or every week or so.
As soon as you face "1000++ new messages" you know something is going on.
This will be : a new version or a security issue or both.
                    You win in all cases.

It's quiet impossible to miss an update actually.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Okay I will do that. What Ido now is open the web interface once a day to check for updates.
