      Hi.

My master CARP member is currently failed, so the slave took itself over it and becomes master.

In the meantime I needed to make some changes to the configuration, so now the slave member is more updated than the failed master one.

What will happen when I will restore the master member? Will the master synchronise from the slave and will take the new configuration, or the slave will make a rollback from the master and will take the configuration which was running when the master was online?

If this will happen, how I will be able to manage this without loosing the configurations I made when the master was offline?

      Thank you very much, bye.

If you bring up the master again the slaves config will be overwritten by the master.

To avoid that disconnect the masters sync interface and reverse the config sync direction by removing the "Synchronize Config to IP" from the master in System > High Avail. Sync and configuring the XMLRPC Sync on the slave. Ensure that all options you want to sync are checked.
