      Why is proper quoting not working? Not sure if that’s a configuration thing which needs to be tuned, but normally I mark text in a thread and that should activate a “quote” button which just quotes the selected text …

      Just tried it and it works. Tried with with the small quote button:

      0_1527421761790_Screen Shot 2018-05-27 at 13.49.05.png

      And with the blue one:

          I just checked my email and there are four separate emails from comments that were posted since I commented. An email is not necessarily a bad thing, but why can't it post a digest of all the comments from the day, rather than a separate email for every comment?

          Also, when I clicked the link in the email to view the topic, there was a message that the forum is overloaded. I guess with all the new features, your server doesn't have enough mojo. ;)

            @jimp @ivor (others) :

            Received-SPF: softfail (netgate.com: Sender is not authorized by default to use 'forum@netgate.com' in 'mfrom' identity, however domain is not currently prepared for false failures (mechanism '~all' matched)) receiver=ns311465.ip-188-165-xxx.eu; identity=mailfrom; envelope-from="forum@netgate.com"; helo=forum.netgate.com; client-ip=208.123.73.199

            root@ns311465:~# dig  netgate.com TXT +short
            .....
            "v=spf1 ip4:208.123.73.76 ip4:208.123.73.28 ip6:2610:160:11:11::76 ip6:2610:160:11:32:250:56ff:fe9e:75ff include:_spf.google.com ~all"
            ...

            It's time to add
            ipv4:[whatever forum.netgate.com is using as MX - probably 208.123.73.199]
            For me, it's an IPv6 ( NOQUEUE: reject_warning: RCPT from unknown[2610:160:11:10:2d2c:c52:91d:2267]: 450....) so add the IPv6 also = 2610:160:11:10:2d2c:c52:91d:2267
            When ok, change "~all" => "-all".
            And while you're at it, what about both reverses of these IPv4 and IPv6 ?
            And DKIM ... ?! (and DMARC)

            Edit : and where are the logs ??

              In your profile (settings) you can ask for a daily digest ...

              Looks like they use an new server, at least, there are new IP addresses (see my message above : mails come in rather suspect according to my own 'mail server' (the amavis family + DKIM + DMARC works for me).

              What also happens is (I guess) that our friend Google and colleges found out that something is going on. So the 'new forum' is being hail-stormed by search engines. The "301" tripwire from forum.pfsense.org to forum.netgate.com can make those guys nervous. Result : the new forum is being bench marked.

                Another issue is the new site doesn't seem to know how to sort on age. Even though I have Sort by set to newest to oldest, I see a variety of dates mixed together, such as a day ago, six days ago, a day ago or six days ago, four years ago, eight days ago! How is that sorted? Why am I seeing topics from years ago, mixed in with recent ones? Why can't I mark all those old topics as read??? Someone else mentioned the new site was designed for a 14 year old girl. Perhaps she's the one who designed it.

                PfSense running on Qotom mini PC
                i5 CPU, 4 GB memory, 32 GB SSD & 4 Intel Gb Ethernet ports.
                UniFi AC-Lite access point

                I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

                  Let's tone it down a notch. Feel free to point out what you don't like, but there's really no need to be that descriptive.

                  That only happens when you log in for the first after migration, it's because all that really is unread on this new platform. Click on unread icon (second icon top left) and from there, click on "Mark as Read" > "all".

                  That should do it.

                    Wow, this forum site new look, is different. It is not good.

                    Why was is changed? Is it trying to compete with snapchat/etc?

                      Main reason is GDPR compliance, SMF was not GDPR compliant. More about reasons for new forum: https://www.netgate.com/blog/introducing-the-netgate-forum.html

                        Previously there was a button that cleared a forum. Now, I have to click twice, to reach a list where I now have to choose which forum I want to mark as read. What's wrong with having a button in each forum again?
