      Hi

I currently use a micro server that runs on a J19000 CPU with 8GB Ram, 128GB SSD and 4 x 10/100/1000 LAN Ports.

I've got a spare machine which I'm debating using and wondered what people thought.

      The spec is :
      AMD GX-420CA (AES support)
      8GB Ram
      320GB Hard Disk
2 x Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 0c) (Built In)
      2 x Intel 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet via PCI-e controller.

I currently have a IPSEC VPN & OpenVPN running 24/7, would the AMD system be a better option ?
or should I stick with the current box ?

      Thanks

You'll get a bit better performance from the AMD, but it will use more power.

I'd switch to the AMD system when you have time, you'll need the AES support for pfSense 2.5.

Since FreeBSD 12 won't be released until October or November & pfSense 2.5 will be built on that, I'm thinking it'll probably be early 2019 before we see it.
