      Hello,

Need some assistance with the best way to get what I want done. Currently my domain controller and exchange server are local. DHCP and DNS are done on the domain controller and works perfect. My pfsense is virtualized with VMware esxi 5.5 and everything is working great.

I've just colocated my host, DC and exchange offsite now. I have a netgate box and openvpn between the colocation site and work site up and running.

I originally tried DNS forwarder, DNS of the DC on general setup so that there was some sort of local DNS cache on the work site.

This didn't work, so I forced the DNS for DHCP on work site to be the DC that is offsite, which then works perfectly and shows the proper domain.local dns name.

Any other way to achieve the domain dns but still have a cache on site?
