Hi guys! I got a pfSense with 1 ADSL and 2 USB 3G modems in loadbalancing wan since the last upgrade 2.4.3 I cross with a problem with the cuaU* ports the error was:

Jun 5 14:11:59 ppp [opt4_link0] MODEM: Fail to open serial port /dev/cuaU0.0 on speed 115200
Jun 5 14:11:59 ppp [opt4_link0] uu_lock(cuaU0.0): read error: File exists

Three pfSense reboots later and pulling my USB modems several times I got that the cuaU port got the number 2 (cuaU2.0) and the modem began to work.

      The solution was very simple:

      [2.4.3-RELEASE][admin@pfSense.server.local]/dev: rm /var/spool/lock/LCK..cuaU0.0
      [2.4.3-RELEASE][admin@pfSense.server.local]/dev: rm /var/spool/lock/LCK..cuaU1.0

I post this just in case anyone here gets in the same situation, hope this helps!

Best regards and keep up the great job with pfSense guys!

      Francisco
