      Hi folks -

      Merry Christmas!

I've recently added a UPS to my firewall and started getting these errors emailed to me -

upsmon parent process died - shutdown impossible

The firewall talks ok to the UPS and when the power goes down it gets shutdowns ok but I'm not sure it'll work after this?

      Any tips?

          Hi,

I'm also getting this message every couple of days since I installed a UPS.

          pfSense - 2.4.3
          nut - 2.7.4_6

Any ideas what might be causing it?

          TIA

          Greg

Same issue, 2.4.3-RELEASE-p1, Nut 2.7.4_6. Running as a Gen 1 VM on Hyper-V 2012R2. I have Service Watchdog installed and it appears it works correctly (meaning after I receive the message, I check and the Nut service is actually running). Nut is configured as Remote apcupsd pointed at the host's UPS, running Windows APCUPSD. Not sure if them failure is pointing at the host or the VM, but there are no events on the host that would indicate an issue. Any feedback appreciated.

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue. Would be nice to know why it is happening.
