I have pfSense 2.4.3-RELEASE running and all was working fine.

I installed an Intel X520-DA2 10GB adapter and reassigned my LAN and WAN from the console. I then lost all access to the web GUI so rebooted the system from the console.

When the system came back up the web GUI was working but I have some errors:

There were error(s) loading the rules: pfctl: ix0: driver does not support altq - The line in question reads [0]: @ 2018-06-27 17:51:55

I disabled the traffic shaper and all is now working. But now I cannot add any traffic shaping to ix0 ix1 (Intel X520-DA2)

      System:
      SuperMicro X10SRH-CLN4F (BOIS 3.1 Jun 6 18)
Intel Xeon E5-1620 v4 (AES-NI CPU Crypto: Yes (active))
2 x 8gb ECC RAM (ufs in ram)
      Intel i350-AM4
      Intel X520-DA2
      1 x 250GB HDD

Your problem is right there in the error message. Your NIC isn't supported by ALT-Q. No traffic shaping for you with that NIC.

I just ran into the same issue, sad as it may be I don't think it will be a huge issue given the throughput and latency of the X520 =D. I'm running the same setup. You should still be able to use QOS/Traffic Shaping on your switch if it supports it and still reap some benefits.
