      Hello,

We bought a SG-4860 appliance 2 years ago with PfSense preinstalled. It's doing the job very nicely until now.
Now, after 1 or 2 months we get some WiFi disconnections (between 2 and 20 per days).

we have discovered in PfSense log some "Ath0: stuck beacon; resetting (bmiss count 4)" and I after some research, increasing these parameters (advanced > system tunnables > hw.ath.bstuck to 8 and hw.ath.longcal to 30) should resolve theses issues. It's better, but we still get between 1 and 10 WiFi disconnection per days.

We made an upgrade last month, we are not sure if it's connected.

Is there anything else we can try or change to solve these connection issues ? Could this be a hardware issue ?

      Thanks

Yeah get an actual AP ;) Freebsd and wifi are not friends - they bicker all the time, freebsd hates the new faster younger crowd and only even talks to old slow shit..

Shoot pfsense/netgate even pulled the option of buying any wifi cards from them... Its just not worth the hassle when a $20 wifi router being used as an AP would provide better more stable connection ;)

Hi, thank you for your answer @johnpoz,

It sucks... For now I already have the fiber converter, the ISP modem, PfSense, and it's just a shame if I must add another box/AP (that just supposed to do the same job as the modem and the PfSense Box)
When we bought this box ($800), the WLE200NX was included, and should be supported nicely...

Is there any good supported card ? even if it's one really specific ?

There are ZERO current wifi tech cards that are supported... Do yourself a favor - get a real AP and place where it will have good coverage. Which 99.99% of the time is nowhere near or in you router..

Or if you can not properly place say a POE AP in the Ceiling - then get some of the mesh AP you plug in around the house/location, etc.

if you want your router/firewall/wifi in 1 device then sorry pfsense which runs on freebsd is just not the correct solution..
