Make pfsense to gigabit transfer
-
i've install a gbps lan card on my pfsense vice versa end to end, but when i use iperf package to get the transfer speed it is only getting 98.3 megabits?

Well then someone is running at 100 vs 1000 ;)
What exactly are you testing to from? Are you testing from lan to lan device, from 1 subnet to another subnet. From pfsense to some client, the internet?
Keep in mind while the iperf package is great tool, testing speed to from pfsense not going to show you the routing/firewall speed of pfsense, etc. Pfsense is meant to route/firewall packets thru it, not to it ;) So if you want to do an iperf test it should be thru pfsense...
iperf client --- lan pfsense optx --- iperf server

im testing directly from 1 pfsense to another pfsense

What NICs are in the other pfSense?
What kind of switch is between them?
What are the CPUs in both nodes?

from
Tplink PCI-E Gbps Lan card
Tp link 24 Ports gbps switch (ordinary)
Clone Desktop i3 8gb ram (pfsense)
fiber optic cable to ....to
Dilnk PCI-E Gbps Lan Card
Dlink 48 ports gbps switch (ordinary)
Clone Desktop (pfsense) dual core 4gb ram (pfsense) -
I would check all the links there to be sure nothing is negotiating 100Mb. And check all cables, etc.
And the dual-core is suspect but should do more than 100Mbit.

thank you for the suggestion. Anyway in pfsense box is it ok to set autoselect in Speed and Duplex?
-
I would leave everything at Default (no preference, usually autoselect) unless you know you need to hard-set.
Status > Interfaces will show you what is negotiated there.

again thank you very much

you should never be hard setting gig.. If you need to down it to 100 or 10 on a gig interface ok. But gig should be auto.. If it doesn't come up gig than you have sort of issue that needs to be corrected. You don't try and hard code it to gig.
