      I am new in VPN. What setup should I do if I want to connect two locations using PFSense IPSec? I did follow the instructions in setting up the IPSec VPN but no luck of making it work. Do I need to configure something in my Pfsense's WAN interface? I just set up a dynamic IP to pfsense's WAN so it can have an internet connection.

      modem -> pfsense -> PC

        Does your pfSense WAN interface have an IP address in the following range:-

        10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255 (10/8 prefix)
        172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 (172.16/12 prefix)
        192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 (192.168/16 prefix)

            @nogbadthebad No. The WAN of my PFSense is in 192.168.1.0/24.

            So that will be a yes then "192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 (192.168/16 prefix)"

            Your modem isn't a modem its a router, you'll have a double NAT going on.

              @nogbadthebad Thank you for that. So in order to make it work, what can I do? I'm sorry for having little knowledge about this. Thank you so much for giving me hints.

                See if you can convert the modem/router into a modem.

                What is the device ?

                  @nogbadthebad the device is a DSL router. About the manufacturer and model, it is not indicated in the router. Cannot see it. Im sorry for that.

                    Maybe have a look on your ISP support pages.

                    I'm based in the UK, I was supplied a DSL modem by my ISP then conect to it from my WAN interface using PPPOE and my login details from the ISP.
