This might have been posted but I cannot seem to find the answer.  I have upgraded to ver 2.2 (works great!) and nslookup from ssh shell seem to have gone missing.

It was located /usr/bin/nslookup before the upgrade.

      Any ideas?

      Chris

Thanks.. That does work! I just have a bunch of scripts needing updates now…

Any ideas why dig and/or nslookup were not included?

I don't think dig was ever on there.  nslookup I believe was part of bind and not sure if that was just include or not because bind was not part of the pfsense install.

Drill is part of unbound that is now integrated explains why it is there, and host has been there from before as well.

You are correct… Found the answer on the freebsd site under user landchanges..

                https://www.freebsd.org/releases/10.0R/relnotes.html

BIND has been removed from the base system. unbound(8), which is maintained by NLnet Labs, has been imported to support local DNS resolution functionality with DNSSEC. Note that it is not a replacement of BIND and the latest versions of BIND is still available in the Ports Collection. With this change, nslookup and dig are no longer a part of the base system. Users should instead use host(1) and drill(1) Alternatively, nslookup and dig can be obtained by installing dns/bind-tools port. [r255949]

https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Dig_command_on_pfSense_2.2_and_later has existed for a while, just sayin'. :-)
