Cant ping LAN interface
-
Fresh install on a laptop, i'm using a USB ethernet adapter for the LAN port. The PC on the LAN side gets and IP assigned of 192.168.0.100 and the gateway is 192.168.0.1 but I cannot ping it or get out to the internet. The WAN interface gets an outside IP and I can ping 8.8.8.8 from the pfsense boot console thingy. Thoughts?

The default LAN network is 192.168.1.0/24 not 192.168.0.0/24. Did you change it? If not the PC might be getting an address from another DHCP server on your network.

Can you ping 192.168.0.100 from the pfSense console?

So you changed pfsense lan IP, and you can access pfsense web gui on 192.168.0.1? But can not ping it?
More details are needed.. Did you mess with the default lan rules as well?

Hi,
So,
@fuzzywuzzy said in Cant ping LAN interface:192.168.0.1
is the IP of pfSEnse.
What did you enter as mask ? "24" ? Something else ?Did you change the DHCP pool in consequence ?
What happens if you redo the initial setup using console access, and keep everything tod default (this works soooooooooooo good - that's probably the reason why they decides to take these values as default).
