Lost connection to 4G Router
-
Hello,
my system:
T-Mobile 4G => LTE Modem LB2102 (Netgear) => pfSense (2.4.3-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)) => LAN
static IP => 192.168.1.254 (Bridge Mode) => 192.168.0.254 => 192.168.0.xEach 2-3 hours I lost the Internet connection. The LTE Modem is not ping able and no webservice.
I´m not sure if the LTE Modem are stop working or the pfSense. After 1-2 minutes the LTE Modem is back reachable and Internet connection is ok.
Can I logging all connections to the LTE Modem from pfSense? To see if there is a info what happens?
Thank you!

So it's the LTE modem that is bridged to the pfSense WAN? But it still uses a private subnet? Or is that just for accessing the modem?
2-3 hours is an unusual time span. What do the pfSense system logs show? Does the modem log anything?

Hello Stephen,
yes, private subnet just for accessing modem.
Where should I look in pfSense for the correct log? There are many.
Thank you!

Just the main system log at least initially. If it's losing connection it should show something there, a gateway alarm at least but maybe also something else that might point at the issue. If the link goes down or dhcp fails for example.
The logs from the modem might be more useful though if you can access that.

ok, thank you ... will check log file, if happens again.
but what I see now is a lot of rows with:
Sep 25 09:26:41 dhcpleases bad name in /var/dhcpd/var/db/dhcpd.leases
Sep 25 09:26:42 dhcpleases bad name in /var/dhcpd/var/db/dhcpd.leasesWhat did this means? I have added static DHCP for many devices ... is there an error?
Thank you

It looks like there is a device with an invalid name in that file. I'd check it for anything with unusual characters for example.
It may just need to be removed and re-initiallised. Stop the DHCP service whilst you do that if so.
