N00B Question: How do I add IPv6 link-local address manually?
-
Hello Community,
I would be required by my ISP/hoster to add an IPv6 link-local address to my WAN interface of my pfSense VM so I can get my router prefix running, how to do so? The GUI won't allow it.

You don't. It should already be on any IPv6 capable interface. Go to Status > Interfaces. There should be a line that starts with IPv6 Link Local, followed by an address starting with fe80. That's your link local address.

Well, there aren't, execpt for LAN interface but that does not help.

Does your VM software support IPv6 ?

Yes and it's Hyper-V. IPv6 is enabled. LAN-interface has a IPv6 link-local address.
