Success with Supermicro A2SDi-4C-HLN4F motherboard and 2.4.4
-
We recently upgraded our internet to gigabit, and our old Intel Atom D525 router wasn't keeping up. So I got a Supermicro SYS-E9-200A boxed system, based on the motherboard above and the Intel C3558 chip.
An M.2 SSD and a couple of RAM chips later, I am happy to report that pfSense 2.4.4 works out of the box on this system, and will pass a gigabit per second without breaking a sweat. If you're looking at one of the Denverton mobos, I highly recommend them, and this Supermicro box in particular.

Didn't find your boxed item number when i searched but I assume it's a sc505-203b case? This is great news as the eol for non aesni systems has me looking to build a new 1u box. Thanks for the post.

Sorry, I got the model number wrong, it's SYS-E200-9A. SuperMicro page
The total price was under $750 with 16GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD, shipping, and California tax.
