Disable New DNS Resolver Status?
-
Is there any way to disable the new status page for the DNS Resolver? I've tried adding the following custom options:
statistics-interval: 0
statistics-cumulative: no
extended-statistics: no
and disabling logging in Services > DNS Resolver > Advanced Settings, but none of them disable the statistics gathering reported at Status > DNS Resolver. -
What exactly are you hoping to disable there and why?
unbound needs to track those values so it knows which DNS servers to contact and the quality of their responses, response times, and so on.

Your looking to disable these?
Why would you want to do that? if your going to be using unbound as a resolver and not just forwarding to some upstream NS, then those are vital to the proper operation of it as a resolver..

Understood. I realize it can't be disabled at a fundamental level, I was just wondering if it was possible to turn off the status screen, but if not it's not a problem. Thanks.

Again: Why?
What information is there that you don't want someone to see?
Like any other page, it can be controlled via privileges. If someone's account does not have access to the page, they can't load it.
Removing the whole page seems pointless, though. It's not exactly secret information or even sensitive in any way. If you don't trust someone to see that, why do they have access to the firewall at all?

All good points. Sorry, I asked the question before fully thinking it through and hate to waste your time during what I'm sure is an unusually demanding period support-wise. I appreciate the responses though.
