Img file: Location of config.xml
-
Hi everybody,
Since 2.4.4 version, I'm trying to locate the folder which is containing config.xml in the image file *.img.
Before this version, I uploaded my own default config.xml in the /conf folder. I used the procedure in order to restore quickly after fresh install my own default config. Many thanks.

Nothing has changed in that regard. However to quickly restore your config try using either of these methods:

Thanks for your answer.
From a FreeBsd admin station, I copy my .img file to my home folder.
Then, I enter the following command: mdconfig -f pfSense.img
This command returns « da0 ».
So, I entered: mount /dev/da0s2a /mnt/pfsense.
I go into this folder: cd /mnt/pfsense and I do ls -alh. I don’t see the folder /conf.That’s why I posted this message.
Many thanks

Ah, because there is no config file in the installer image directly, it's not pfSense.
The config is in the installed image in /usr/freebsd-dist.But I highly recommend using one of the methods mentioned above instead.
