IPSec enabling for Dual stack IPV4 + IPV6

HI,
IPSec is already enabled for IPV4 and we have to extend it for IPV6.
We are using Dual stack IPV4 + IPV6 in OS and for same interface we have configured IPV4 and IPV6 addresses.
We are using racoon daemon for IPSec and using IKEV1 authentication adding rules for ESP and AH protocols.

My question is IPV6 has in built security ? if not we have to set rules for AH and ESP protocols for secure communication and it works if both IPV4 and IPV6 stack is deployed in OS.
