      Hello all, long time user of pfSense originally coming from m0n0wall. I have 50/25 cable internet for some reason I am only getting ~15mbps on the download however I am getting the advertised/purchased upload speed at ~29mbps. Plugging directly to the modem I get the ~59/~29.

      My pfSense 2.2 install is pretty much default, no packages (squid, etc). I do have 4 VLANs but I do not think that has anything to do with it. I verified all duplex/speed settings on all connected ports. Swapped all my network cables. I have tried using tweaks from https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tuning_and_Troubleshooting_Network_Cards site related to my hardware. Disabled all checksum and offload. I do not see anything in the logs that might indicate an issue. I also do not see any interface errors/collisions within pfsense or the cisco switch.

      cable modem–->(em0)pfSense(em1)--->TRUNK(4 vlans)--->cisco switch--->devices

      pfSense is running on http://www.mini-box.com/Intel-D2500CCE-Mini-ITX-Motherboard .

      Any ideas where I could start pinpointing the problem?

        What's your system load during the speed test? Check system activity.

          Id look at ruling out your cable node as being overloaded first. Your issue is a classic symptom of such.

            Thank you all for your reply. When doing the speedtest there is not much in system activity. It's barely taxing the system.

            I just received a switch I ordered recently (Mikrotik RB250GS) and configured it for my network. I happen to do another speedtest while connected to this switch and voila I am getting what I am supposed to be getting. So I am inclined to think that I may have a cisco switch issue.
