      Hi,

      is there a way to define additional DHCP options for a specific static mapped client only?
      I did not see that in the GUI but maybe there is a way to add this into the configuration via command line.

      Thanks and best regards,

        Like, what specific options are you exactly missing?

          I am looking for client specific tags which can be the boot filename or vendor specific variables used for software distribution/bare metal installation:
          Please see attached image.

          Great would be to have the "Additional BOOTP/DHCP Options" section also for every static mapped client.

            Why can you not have those in your normal pool?  Vendor specific would only apply to something from that vendor - and boot, would only pertain to stuff that was booting pxe anyway, etc.

              @johnpoz:

              We have configurations with multiple 1,000 of PC which mostly use the same bootstrap loader for software distribution and bare metal installation.

              But some are different, e.g. Notebooks have a different boot order which is controlled by passing a vendor specific DHCP tag (>= 128) to the bootstrap loader.
              Also there are faulty ACPI implementations on some, so you pass a string, set by a DHCP option, to the bootstrap loader. This could look like "PxDbG=0102;" wich can be in any vendor specific DHCP option.

              This can not be done in the global configuration because all clients would start in that mode.

              Best regards,

                In short you want a generic field to allow you to pass some tag via DHCP?  Not necessarily a vendor specific field?

                  Yes.
                  Actually I would love to have the "Additional BOOTP/DHCP Options" section  in the Services: DHCP: Edit static mapping GUI.

                    No idea if this is doable, but its nice to ask.  Maybe its super easy?  No idea.

                    To me it sounds like a good idea if it helps lots of people.
