Perhaps a borked package install? I would try removing it then reinstall. If the same problem persists, I would probably uninstall the package again and then delete the existing squid folders before reinstallation so you don't pick up the same cruft again. Backup your config (including packages) before you do anything so you can restore your config if it's complex.

I already did reinstall with no luck, I will try deleting squid folders sometime later though and see what happens
