Couple of strange issues since upgrade
-
Hi
Upgraded to 2.4.4-RELEASE (amd64) since then I've had a couple of strange issues.
pfSense is doing the PPPoE connection to my ISP and I get disconnections every few days, prior to the upgrade I had none at all.
Going to Statue / Interface I can see the connection is down. If I click connect, I get 'IPv6 Link Local' & 'Gateway IPv6' details, but nothing for 'IP v4'. After a while it will recover, if not I have to reboot my pfSense box. Is there a better way to restart the WAN link correctly ?
When this has happened all SIP trunks on a local IP PX fail to register when the WAN is up again. To get them working again I have to clear all states relating to Port 5060 and reload the filters. As soon as I do this the trunks work.
I've also noticed my open VPN connection to Private Internet Access disconnects frequently. Sometimes it restarts itself, other times I have to stop and restart the service, again no issues with the previous version.
Can anyone advise on how I can diagnose what is happening.
Thanks

What do you see logged in the System and PPP logs when it's failing to connect?

Here I found Couple of strange issues since upgrade, my APU2 fails and as usual, deleting restarting and messing up will be possible if we much time to look at logs and debugs dragons here know.
Sorry for my think, not simple explaining is possible because we lost much time available to read around.
Gosh! It's a very hard job this. But in last years, I really not remember what time is right for updating task, wich update what? Livin' in updated world? (mee too) Brains! We need Brains! not beer.
Well better avoid updates if not strictly mandatory, (over all if YOU live into your working network) and live your life Peaceful!
Bye bye... -

Sorry but updates to your firewall is MANDATORY!! ;) That is if you want to keep up security fixes, etc. etc. That is fine you don't want to update the firmware on your printer or something.. And sure if its production you don't have to pull the trigger the day it comes out, etc.. But keeping your stuff updated is mandatory in running any sort of sane network...
