Snort not working

Hello there,

I've installed pfSense on a VMWare Server (Host is Windows Server 2003) and installed a fresh pfSense - after that, I also installed Snort and edit the preferences. Unfortunately, Snort doesn't work for me, which means it simply doesn't block anything - and referring to this guide, it should? After following this guide e.g. I tried to start skype, which logged in absolutely successfully. No alert, neither in the logs.

Is it possible that the promiscuous mode of VMWare Server is somehow buggy and that therefor it won't work?
