      Hi everyone,

I have an IBM x330 box that I've been using for years with pfsense. It's current configuration is the following:

      dual p3 @1.4GHz
      2GB ram
Intel dual port Gig PCI-X nic
No hard drives (I pulled the raid card and scsi drives that were in the system and also disabled on the onboard raid controller).

I've been running the system like this since 1.x.x via live cd + usb mem for the config. It's currently running 2.1.5 with no issues. For those who are curious, I've tried installing to the hard drive when 2.1 came out but had a lot of issues for the kernel not installing correctly. Turns out if you make a partition bigger than 32GB, it would cause the kernel issues I was having. After trying to upgrade past 2.1 i couldn't get it to work on the hard drive anymore so I ended up back to live cd.

Now, moving forward, when trying to boot 2.2 via live cd, I end up with mount error pfsense failed with error 19 (I've attached a screenshot). I've tried setting the raid var in the boot config to 0 as suggested in the FAQ but it has no effect.

I have not tried booting a FreeBSD disk on it's own but I was wondering if anyone else had an issue like this?

I don't know if this is related, but some older BIOSes could not support drives larger than 32GB. Problems caused by this 32GB limit was BIOS implementation specific.

          Thanks for you reply,

I have no doubt that the bios is most likely limited at 32GBs but in this case, I am booting from live cd and I get this error even before I would get asked to install or run as live cd.

            Try this:

I had to set HD access mode to LBA on a box here but you're not using a HD. Will that box not boot from USB then?
