SG-3100 expected idle temperature

Hi,
My pfSense is reporting an idle temperature of around 70 C, this is with load average of 0.16,0.18,0.17 and CPU of 10-15% (I guess this is being affected by my observation, as I have the web dashboard open which is obviously using up some cycles too).
Is this a "normal" temperature? It seems a little high for me, but I'm not familiar with the hardware…
On a related note - can anybody tell me the SNMP OID to monitor temperature?

It depends on a lot on the ambient temp and what it's doing, but mine goes between 60c-70c or so. It's usually around 63-65 completely idle, with no traffic other than me watching the dashboard, and that's today when it's a bit chilly in here (~70f/21c ambient in the house this morning). Mine is on a shelf next to some other gear that gets fairly warm though.

Ok, so with that in mind, an ambient of around 23 C, and the SG-3100 sitting between above a Netgear switch and a below Speedtouch modem (which does get quite warm in itself), 70 C or so should be expected…

I have my 3100 set to "Hiadaptive" and it idles around 58c, but when I am pushing traffic it will typically go upwards of 68c.
Mine is located in my basement, on a wire rack with lots of airflow.
I did have mine located on my Ubiquiti 150w switch and it was pushing 70c so I would say this is normal.

Can't say much for pfSense/FreeBSD on ARM - but this is "normal" for Linux on the Armada 38x under typical loads in similar use cases…
Wouldn't worry too much about it - well within design spec of the SoC.

Same here with my new SG-3100 I setup yesterday. temperature between 63 - 69 all the time? is this normal?

It depends on the ambient temperature without a fan. My office is @19c at the moment so my SG-3100 is idle @53c.

I know this topic is old, but I thought I'd share. I turned the SG-3100 upside down and placed a low-speed 120mm fan on top of it. With the room about 20C, the firewall is running around 50C. Without the fan, the normal temperature was 65-75C. I'd say having it upside down with a fan also has let it be more stable. YMMV.

I just looked at my 2 sg3100 both in IDF rooms at their locations and 1 is running 51C and the other is at 55C.
