      Hi,

      with Pfsense 2.4.4 with running captive portal, i find lots of entries under the "Status Captive Portal Auth"/"Captive Portal Auth Log Entries" which are not belonging to that section.

      I can find dpinger entries there and gateway failovers, openvpn logs and "filter_configure_sync", new_wan_ip and so on.

      There are captive port logs too, but as there are so many wrong log entries, they are hard to find.

      I believe that is a bug. Does anybody see similar log entries there?

        Hmm, that's odd.
        Are those messages duplicated in the system log or only logged there?
        Has this just started happening? Was there some change when it started?
        Do you have any non-default log settings? Increased log size or syslog server configured for example?

          @stephenw10

          Hi Stephen,

          the entries are in the wrong section, they should be in Openvpn/Gateway/System tabs and they are not duplicated.
          It started as i activate the captive portal. There are no entries in that section, when the captiva portal is inactive.
          I have no syslog server configured, just reverse logs und max 900 entries.

          I have this on at least 5 different pfsense locations.

          Regards
          Pete

            Are you able to test a 2.4.5 snapshot?

                Ok, no problem. We should have 2.4.4p1 out before that so you can check if it still happens there.

                  @stephenw10

                  Hi Stephen,

                  i updated some of my pfenses which are providing a captiva portal to 2.4.4p1 and cant see the false loggings anymore. So it looks like solved with version 2.4.4p1.

                  Regards
                  Peter
