BIND wont start

I cant get bind to start when I add my custom options in the gui. I am trying to add this option:
zone "101com.com" { type master; notify no; file "null.zone.file"; };
purely as a test then I will add all of these since I am using bind for ad blocking.
checking the logs it shows :
named[62466]: /etc/namedb/named.conf:22: unknown option 'zone'I have no clue why it doesn't understand the zone option but its not starting because of it and its starting to piss me off. I have tried every different formatting of my custom option to try and get it to start and it just wont.
Edit: editing the named.conf file manually at /cf/named/etc/namedb/named.conf I am able to insert the zone option without it causing issues but this is not the way it should be.
