    Hello everyone,

I run the installer from memory stick, I can install FreePSD on my Lenovo SR550. But with PfSense, It's a nope. After many hours of research, I found out. PfSense not have driver of my raid adapter. It's name "Thinksystem Raid 530-8i". I use Raid-1 for it.

Anyone faced this problem, please help 😭 I'm on deadline. 😭

Thank you so much. (Sorry my bad English).

      Hi,

      Several possibilities :
      Plan A : Change hardware.
Plan B : Break the Raid 1 (in the BIOS) and see what ZFS file system can do for you (his has some mirror capabilities - note : I'm not a ZFS expert)
Plan C : Fabric your own Install support. This could be as easy as coping the compiled drivers in place.
This might work, as long as you find compiled driver that use the correct FreeBSD version :

      2.4.4-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)
built on Mon Nov 26 11:40:26 EST 2018
      FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p4

Plan Z : build pfSense up from the ground, including the software for hardware.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

        Thank for your reply,

I have a plan to use VMWare or ESXi. But I don't think virtual machine is better than physic machine. So I doubt about this plan. It's easy to do but maybe not the good one, I think.

What do you think about it ?

When you had it running on FreeBSD, which disk controller driver was it using?

It's possible it needs a driver that pfSense does not include from FreeBSD

I don't check it further, but I know It's missing some driver that I don't know. I just know my device name not the controller. I'm on the way to my Datacenter and find some clue to answer ☹
