      Hi,

I recently installed 1.2-STABLE on a WRAP based router with one ethernet and one wifi port. The idea is to make the wireless the "LAN" side and use the ethernet as the "WAN." The problem is that I can't use the webConfigurator from the WAN side to get the wireless set up. I tried first configuring the device with the wifi as the WAN and the ethernet as the LAN so I could  get in and configure the wireless, but certain settings seem to disappear once I reassign the interfaces. Most notably, the wireless settings. Or at least the SSID.

Very frustrating to say the least. Somehow I managed to get this working with version 1.0.1 of the firmware, but I remember it being a pain back then. Is there a simple way to do this? Can I easily enable access to the webConfigurator on the WAN side from the console?

Try "pfctl -d" from the shell. This will disable the packetfilter. Then create the needed rule to access the webgui at WAN. Save, apply and reboot. You should now be able to do everything using the webgui at WAN. If your WAN has private IP-space make sure to uncheck the "block private IPs"-option at interfaces>wan too.
