Blocking domains via text file
-
Hi all,
I would like to block some domains. Is it possible to upload to pfSense a text file containing such domains which will be blocked by the firewall?

You could create a fqdn alias and then sure use that alias to block.. Or take a look at pfblocker package.
Or you could use proxy and block domains and fqdn/urls there.

@johnpoz : Thanks for the quick response!
I have pfBlockerNG installed but is causing me some issues. I'll try the other two options. -
pfblocker is not the click click done sort of package - its got lots of power.. Which can be overwhelming to the new user.. Same goes for running a proxy.
The easy solution is to just create a fqdn alias and use that in a simple block firewall rule.

@johnpoz : I had to deactivate pfblocker because it was blocking internet access and once freezed the whole system and I had to reboot. But I don't know for sure if it was pfblocker itself or the rules I have.
