I was a secondary internet connection as a fail over and plan to use a mifi device (I am in the UK)

How would I connect as cant see any ethernet connection on the device

will I have to use a USB wifi adapter on the pfsense box (which is supported one) to connect to the device over wifi and give me internet connectivity.

I am comfortable with the pfsense configuration for fail over

You need a Access Point acting in Client Mode to connect via Wireless to this MiFi.
